About the bad habits that can lead to ED

The problem of bad habits is getting more and more talked about in recent years as doctors find new evidence for the link between an unhealthy lifestyle and developing serious health conditions. Probably there is a smaller number of actual health problems that are not a result of particular bad habits or of being negligent about one’s health. So it’s not a big surprise to learn that erectile dysfunction can actually be caused by one’s addiction to not so very healthy substances or activities. Here are the details of how some of the most common “bad lifestyle” choices leading to erectile dysfunction on themselves or in combination with other underlying cuases

Drinking too much

Alcohol abuse is a common bad habit, unfortunately, and it is a cause for many serious health conditions. While a little alcohol from time to time isn’t bad usually as it can bring a incentive effect, including better sexual arousal, drinking too much on a regular basis can do harm your cardiovascular and nervous systems. And these body systems are very important for maintaining proper sexual abilities too since blood circulation and nerve signal transmission are essential for forming a stable erection. So if you’re heavy on drinking don’t get surprised if some day you won’t be able to get an erection without ED pills.

Once more about smoking

As for nicotine addiction, this bad habit represents not a less serious health risk and everyone should heard a lot about the bad effects of smoking to one’s health such as cardiovascular problems and lung cancer. After all smoking is known as one of the leading factors leading to premature death all over the world. Concerning erectile dysfunction issues smoking is known to seriously deteriorate blood vessels and lead to such conditions as hypertension that is one of the main causes for male impotence. So think more carefully about quitting the bad habit. And if you still find youу erections unsatisfied you can try levitra.

Drug addiction

The use of recreational drugs has become very common especially at younger men, who seek for the stimulant or relaxant effect for spicing up sexual experience. And while the actual sensations during intimacy may be altered and intensified with those drugs – there are very negative aftermath effects of such experiments, especially as young men becoming addicted to some substance. Even when taking the seemingly harmless marijuana evidence prove regular use of this herb lowers libido and impare blood vessels, cuasing erectile dysfunction.

Bad eating habits

Stupors in Cats

Stupors in cats are much more than just your cat losing consciousness; it is a life threatening situation that will need immediate attention. This lack of an alert state of mind in your cat could be the result of several different sinister underlying conditions such as Hydrocephalus or other related diseases.

There are five basic levels of consciousness that are recognized in cats and it’s extremely important to understand the differences and be able to properly identify this condition in your cat if you ever experience it.

The five levels include normal, depressed, disoriented, stuporous, and comatose.

A normal state is when your cat has no obvious symptoms of any type of irregular responses to basic stimuli, and this state can vary tremendously depending on the personality of your cat. Dull or depressed is a state that your cat enters into when they are sick or starting to become ill.

They may sleep a lot but they will also respond very easy to any type of stimuli.

Disorientated or demented states can very often be confused with stuporous levels; but there are major differences. Demented is usually a progressive condition much like Alzheimer’s disease where your cat is suffering from or showing signs of dementia. Dementia is a state where your pet will start to show signs of loss of cognitive functions as well as demonstrating apathy to most conditions.

With this state of consciousness your cat will responded to stimuli but their reactions will seem very odd to you as they will become hyperactive, hysterical, or very irritable to the point of being aggressive.

Stupors in cats is the next step beyond this state of consciousness where your cat will not respond to any type of normal stimulus but will respond to very strong stimuli such stroking very hard or pinching . The fifth stage is where you cat is comatose and unresponsive to anything. In this state of unconsciousness, they usually do not survive.

Causes:

There are several potential causes of what may have placed your cat in this very serious and life threatening position. If you suspect that your cat may be falling slowing into stupors, or suddenly appears that they are in a stupor, it will be extremely important to make several notes on what happened or is happening for your veterinarian.

They will need to know when the first incident occurred and how long it lasted, as well as is this the first such episode or has it happened before? Has your cat taken any new medications or been exposed to any type of toxicity? And finally, does your pet have any type of a disease that may be the cause such as epilepsy, diabetes, or a heart condition. If they are your regular veterinarian they will know your cat’s background but they will still need to be notified of anything new or different.

The first potential cause may have been some type of a trauma that has happened to your pets head as well as brain tumors and a condition known as Encephalitis. Encephalitis is an inflammatory disease of your cat’s central nervous system that includes the brain and the spinal cord. It is also one of the most common neurological diseases to both cats as well as dogs.

It is almost always an inflammation in your cat’s brain and is caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites, fungi, or tick infections. The actual symptoms will depend on what part of your cat’s brain has been infected and will include seizures, blindness, behavior changes, mental depression, as well as imbalance and lack of coordination. However, the most telling sign is a stupor like affect in your cat.

Hydrocephalus can also be the cause of stupors as it is a neurological disease in which there is an excessive accumulation of fluid in the brain. This disease is especially dangerous as it slowly affects your cat. It usually starts with spastic or clumsy walking followed by sudden bouts of circling.

As this disease progresses, your cat’s head may start to tilt and they may develop very abnormal eye movements. If your cat suddenly cries out in pain, the next step of this disease is usually an altered mental state, seizures, stupors, or the worst case scenario, a coma.

Hypoglycemia is yet another potential cause of a stupors developing in your cat and this is the result of a gradual or very rapid decrease of your cat’s blood glucose, or their sugar concentrations. This condition is very common in kittens and very young cats that have not fully developed their ability to regulate their blood glucose concentration.

Signs to watch for in the development of this disease are dilated pupils and the appearance of being suddenly blind. This will most often be followed be trembling and muscle twitching, seizures, and than a stupor.

The final two major potential causes of stupors will be drug intoxication or a reaction to a toxic substance. Drug intoxication in cats may be very slow in development as cats have a very slow rate of bio-transformation in their liver. They also have unusual receptor site sensitivity from many drugs.

An example of this is that most cats develop a very excitable state after being administered morphine rather than the sedative state it is intended for. If you suspect a drug reaction is the cause of the stupor, it will be extremely important to make note of the series of events leading up to the stupor.

There is an entire litany of toxic substances that may have caused this condition in your cat including over 24 types of plants and shrubs as well as several very common household chemicals including drain cleaners, furniture polish, and several bathroom cleaners.

Summary:

Stupors in cats are very easy passed off as lethargic states. However, it is extremely important that if you suspect this condition at all to make as many notes as you can think of both prior and during the stupor.

If your cat does demonstrate any signs of altered consciousness, lay them down as quickly as possible to protect them from injury, but be very careful as they may not know what is happening and may attempt to claw or bite you. It will also be very important to lay them either on a board or a very tight blanket or rug before moving them.

If trauma is the cause, moving them sharply may place their life in further danger. If you suspect poisoning, try to find what you believe may have triggered this and bring it with you to the veterinarian. How you react may save your cats life.

The Advantages of Laptop Computers

Laptop computers are no longer suitable just for business travelers and IT professionals. Due to advances in technology, the lowering of prices, and the widespread availability of WiFi, laptops have become ideal for anyone desiring the convenience of being able to take their main computer anywhere at any time. Busy professionals, students, housewives and anyone who uses a computer on a somewhat regular basis can benefit from owning a laptop.

Perhaps you have never owned a laptop. Or maybe you are on the fence about whether a laptop is right for you or not. This article will provide an overview of the advantages of owning a laptop and may help you decide if your next computer purchase should be a laptop.

A laptop computer can always serve as your main computer, but a typical desktop will never be convenient enough to travel with often.

You can plug your laptop into a larger monitor, a standard size keyboard, printer or any other peripheral that you would use with the desktop.

Because your laptop is inherently portable, your home computer can double as your work computer and vice versa. You can work just about anywhere you prefer and with the widespread and still growing availability of WiFi you can almost always have access to email, instant messaging and the Web.

Laptops also offer the ability to save space. If you live in a dorm, small one-room studio apartment or if you share living or home office space with others, your kitchen table, your living room coffee table or even your bed can double as your workspace. There is no need really to designate a separate area or buy a desk to accommodate a computer if you need to save space and own a laptop.

As you can see, laptop computers do offer some advantages over desktops.  Laptops are not, however, right for everyone.  If you need to be on the bleeding edge of technology, want to get the most power possible for your dollar or do not foresee needing to take your computer with you when you travel, a desktop is probably more suitable.  If you travel a lot, need to save space or are looking for a second computer to replace your desktop, then consider the advantages of a laptop.

Hematemesis in Cats

Hematemesis in cats can be extremely dangerous and you may not know where the blood is actually coming from. The blood from this condition can be bright red or can be very brown and almost resemble coffee grinds. It may be a true form of Hematemesis that your cat is experiencing, or it can be a secondary form. If it is the true form, your cat needs immediate attention and may have to be hospitalized.

The color of the blood will depend on the exposure to your pet’s gastric juices and the length of time that this blood has been in the stomach. If it has been in the stomach for over two hours and digested, this is where it gets the coffee ground appearance.

If it is fresh blood it indicates that there is a new problem such as a hemorrhage and the blood has had no contact with the juices, therefore it will be red.

Hematemesis is the vomiting of blood by your cat.

This condition can be extremely frightening for owners and it will at first be very difficult to identify the actual cause, but it will be extremely important to understand exactly what kind of blood that your cat is vomiting. There are two kinds of Hematemesis; true and secondary.

The secondary form of this condition may be from your cat either sneezing blood, coughing blood, or blood some where in the mouth that has been swallowed. Once it has been swallowed it is exposed to your cats gastric juices before it is vomited back up. Although this is a concern, it is generally not a real serious threat to your pet.

However, the true form is something entirely different. If it has the appearance of flakes, streaks, or blood clots and is reddish in appearance as opposed to brown and granular, it is an indication that your cat has a very serious underlying condition that needs immediate attention.

Symptoms:

Hematemesis will produce several symptoms in your cat with the most obvious being blood in the vomit. However, there are other symptoms that you can watch for. Anorexia and diarrhea can be seen in both forms, but is most common in the secondary form as your cat simply does not feel well. Both forms may also show digested dark blood in the feces which is referred to as melena.

However, the more serious symptoms to watch for and may indicate that your pet has the true form will be fresh blood in the feces that is referred to as hematochezia. Along with this symptom you cat may develop a very tender and painful abdomen, as well as very rapid breathing as their condition continues to erode from the loss of blood.

At this point it will be critical to examine your pet’s gums; if they are pale, your cat is already in serious trouble.

If the condition worsens even further, your cat may show signs of bleeding in several other parts of their body, become very weak, and could collapse or even go into shock. If it reaches this stage, it may be too late to save your cat.

Causes:

There are several potential causes of Hematemesis and the most common will be diseases or some type of disorder in their upper gastrointestinal tract. However, it could also be caused by clotting.

The first potential cause may be from bleeding disorders that used to be very uncommon with cats. However, they are becoming more common especially in large urban cities where there is a large amount of warfarin used. This is the major ingredient in rat poison and can be deadly to your cat.

Warfarin is an anticoagulant and what it is doing to your cat is exactly what it was made to do in mice and rats. It is made to prevent the formation of blood clots which causes rodents to bleed to death.

The next common cause will be from gastrointestinal ulcerations or ulcers and can have several causes. These ulcerations could be caused by a foreign object that your cat has ingested, especially if they roam a lot and have eaten bones that may now be lacerating their intestinal tract. Or it could be from a tumor either in their esophagus or stomach.

A tumor is an abnormal growth of tissue that is the result of an uncontrolled and progressive multiplication of cells resulting in a swelling in your cat.

Hematemesis could also be caused by a chronic inflammation of your cat’s esophagus. This condition is often referred to as GERD, which is back washing of your cat’s stomach acid and bile into the esophagus or the swallowing tube.

It is the result of your cat’s stomach inability to keep acid and digestive juices out of the esophagus. The final major causes of gastrointestinal ulcerations could be from metabolic diseases such as kidney failure or liver disease.

Treatment:

Treatments will depend on if the cause is true or secondary. This situation that your cat is facing is very serious and you will need to follow your veterinarian’s direction. You will also need to stop any drugs immediately such as corticosteroids or aspirin that you may be giving your cat.

Treatments that will be used for slowing the symptoms may be stopping all food and water for up to 36 hours to allow the gastrointestinal tract to heal. Very bland foods are usually introduced for a short period of time until the vomiting has stopped altogether.

Blood transfusions may also be administered if there has been a lot of blood lost as well as fluid therapy.

Your cat may seek out and eat grass as it is natures way to clean out the vomiting as well as settling their stomach. Licorice extract can also help your cat with this condition as they recover as it has a natural healing process. This herb has been used for centuries as a soothing and coating agent in both pets and humans.

It is also especially effective with gastrointestinal ulcerations, GERD or heartburn from acid reflex, as well as inflammatory disorders.

Summary:

Your cat vomiting blood is an extremely dangerous condition and it will be very important to identify the type of blood that is being vomited very early. Once identified, getting the correct treatment for your cat will be paramount in stabilizing them and than correcting the underlying cause.
