supplements for women

Menopause can go one of two ways. It can be a miserable experience characterized by aggravating menopause symptoms. Or, it can be a pain-free transition that’s barely noticeable. In fact, choosing the right menopause supplement can make all the difference. nutraOrigin, makers of high quality vitamins for women, shares the secrets of natural treatment for menopause.

Menopause symptoms: Common but avoidable

Every woman experiences her own unique set of menopausal symptoms, which can include hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, heart palpitations, vaginal and urinary changes, and decreased memory and concentration. Most experts agree these symptoms are caused by low or fluctuating estrogen levels, which throw everything off kilter. But that doesn’t mean a difficult menopause is unavoidable.

Between 75-85% of American women going through “the change of life” report experiencing menopausal hot flashes. Yet only about 10% of Japanese women do. Why the discrepancy? It’s all in the diet. Japanese women eat several servings of soy a day, which naturally contain anti-hot-flash substances called isoflavones. American women don’t.

Natural Hot Flash Remedies and Menopause Treatments from nutraOrigin

MenoBalance Supplement

Isoflavones help you get control of hot flashes – but they also provide relief for a whole range of symptoms. How? These phyto-nutrients have the remarkable ability to imitate the biological activities of female hormones. That means that even if your own natural levels of estrogen are plummeting, isoflavones can trick your body into thinking it has enough.

Soy is well-known for its natural content of isoflavones, but most of the research studying isoflavones for menopause relief has been performed on red clover. nutraOrigin formulated MenoBalance with a high-potency blend of isoflavones from red clover and kudzu. The formula additionally protects cardiovascular health, with patented Actifolate folic acid and resveratrol; supports bone integrity, due to the synergistic activity of isoflavones and vitamin D; and provides protection to hormone-sensitive tissues, with rosemary and turmeric.

Black Cohosh Essentials Supplement

Scientists have conducted numerous studies demonstrating the efficacy of black cohosh for relieving the discomforts of menopause, with minimal or no side effects. In fact, one double-blind, placebo-controlled trial found the herb was 47% more effective than conjugated estrogen at beating menopause hot flashes! Cohosh has also been shown to help alleviate headaches, heart palpitations, and nervousness and irritability associated with menopause. The evidence is so strong that the German Commission E (similar to our FDA) has approved black cohosh as a treatment for menopause.

nutraOrigin’s Black Cohosh Essentials features 80 mg of standardized black cohosh – four times the amount seen in weaker extracts – for maximum effect. It also includes lemon balm and motherwort, which help reduce stress and anxiety.

Nutra Multi Iron-Free Multivitamin

Studies show older women are more likely to be deficient in key vitamins like B1, B2, B5, folic acid and D than younger women. That’s why a multivitamin like nutraOrigin’s Nutra Multi Iron-Free is so important. It delivers all the necessary vitamins and minerals needed to create a foundation of health – including 500 mg of calcium – but leaves out the iron, since too much can be harmful to menopausal women.

The experts at nutraOrigin recommend taking all three formulas together for maximum synergistic effect.

Six Great Ways to Vent Your Frustrations

Frustrating Bangs

We all have ups and downs to life. How do you deal with the downs? Do you numb yourself and avoid them? Or do you find the hidden gift held within them?

Each time a painful emotion is felt, it provides an opportunity.

Pain gives us the gift of growth in a hidden package. Something is shouting out for a change. If we pause and open this gift, a great secret of freedom and love can be revealed. Sometimes when the pain is large enough, we have no choice but to look at it anyway. My largest pains have helped to open the greatest growths in my life. Hey, it’s worth a shot, right? Finding a healthy way to vent can even help to relieve anxiety, something more and more of us are suffering from in these times. Those who don’t find a healthy way of venting often stuff it inside until they explode one day or get into the habit of finding ways to numb themselves, such as eating. Venting can help to truly relieve stress, which is known to cause many ailments and “dis-eases” in our bodies.

Before true clarity can be reached on why something is happening, it is best to free up the strong energy that arises from the frustration of the situation.

Once that energy has been expressed, you can rest in the stillness, while still connected to the power of emotion, to reach the greatest levels of clarity possible. It is here where our insight is at a natural high. With the power of the openness we have after pain, our greatest growth can happen. We can release the ties to these situations and grow beyond them.

Here are some ways to vent out the frustrations, sadness, and anger that arise as a normal part of growing and a healthy life:

Cry. When you feel deeply sad, crying works beautifully. Often when we cry, we want a shoulder to cry on. If none is available, cry to yourself and receive it with love. Either way, allowing yourself the space to cry can work wonders on freeing up the stored up energy inside that is too much to contain within. While crying connect with the pain you feel and cry into it.

Punch. If you feel very angry, you may feel the desire to hit something. A very healthy way of exerting this powerful energy is to punch a pillow. Hit the pillow like it’s the person/thing you are angry at. Yell and cuss at it as well if that helps to release that tension. Cuss words are great at opening up that stored up energy and getting to the root of your emotions. As you hit, smash into that frustration and feel exactly what aspects of it are making you angry.

Write. Writing can help to clear the overwhelm of information in your head. It allows a pouring out of what is going on inside. Once you’ve written all you can, some things will still stand out or certain feelings may still be felt strongly. These are the largest lessons in the situation. Writing provides a great clarity that other ways may not give. You can easily reflect on what you were feeling in the situation once the emotion has passed in an effort to keep the lesson fresh in your mind and heart. Some people enjoy tearing up the pages after they’ve written as a way to exert their frustration. Molly Cook suggests capturing the emotions and negative energy in the paper, for your eyes only, as a private way to vent. Laurel Sutton recommends online communities such as Asshat! They allow a platform for transforming your frustration into an amusing rant and provide the opportunity for anonymous feedback, if desired.

Exercise. Some of your most frustrating days in your life may turn out to be your best days in the gym. As Jen Olewinski so beautifully puts it, “Plus, getting in shape can’t be that bad right?” Running, boxing and walking all allow great ways to vent. Many spiritual people find their way into their deepest connections through opening the door to regular exercise. Exerting energy in this way, with a regular commitment to their health, opens them like nothing else.

Talk. One woman told me the story of a nurse who rode the bus every day. She found a way to stay remarkably young-looking by letting go of anger immediately. She did not direct it at her family or others. Instead, she got on the bus and waited for a passenger to sit near. She’d ask if they minded listening to her and if not, she’d share her dilemma. Once she’d talked it out, she’d thank them and get off the bus. Often times, we can learn so much just by hearing ourselves speak and we don’t need much feedback at all. If you have a trusted confident or teacher, even better.

Create Art. What better to do than to channel this energy into creating something beautiful? Pablo Solomon is an artist who bangs a hung of stone with a hammer and chisel to release his tension. He used the frustration of 9/11 to make it one of his most productive times ever. So how do you vent? Please share. You may help someone else who will connect with what you do…

Severe Dandruff: Easy to Identify – Hard to Treat?

By admin, 24 August, 2009, No Comment
Deal With Dandruff

Dandruff is a condition that can be suffered in varying degrees, ranging from extremely mild to severe. In most cases it is not necessary to consult medical advise when dealing with dandruff. However, it can be crucial to see a dermatologist when suffering from severe dandruff over a long-term period or when it is related to some other condition that needs medical attention.

In general terms, dandruff problems can only be controlled but not prevented. There are two types of dandruff – dry and oily. Moderate and severe dandruff is usually classified as oily dandruff but can nonetheless result as a condition recognized by the extreme dry, flaking and itching of the scalp, sometimes with a very distinctive bad smell attached to it. While mild hair dandruff looks like fine white powder, more severe dandruff results in an over-production of large white  or yellow oily flakes that are clearly visible.

While most of mild dandruff can easily be treated with chemical-based anti dandruff shampoos and conditioners, severe dandruff might require different treatments. The most commonly used chemicals such as selenium sulfide, pytithione zinc and ketoconazole might do more harm than good for the already irritated skin and possibly cause unwanted adverse side-effects.

If you do suffer from severe hair dandruff it is advisable not to use ordinary soap to wash your hair, as it is not designed to cleanse scalp and hair. Try to avoid washing your hair too intensively as this can irritate the scalp and increase the cell turnover and flakes. As severe types are considered more oily than the mild ones it is important to avoid oily and greasy based applications. Last but not least a general rule for every dandruff sufferer is not to consume alcohol, fried and spicy food as well as fast food.

No matter what you try to get rid of your dandruff problem if neither the anti dandruff over the counter products nor any home remedies have helped even after six weeks you should consult a dermatologist. If you scalp is red and itchy or if the skin is flaky around the eyebrows, round the nose, behind the ears or in between the shoulder blades it could suggest that you suffer from more severe dandruff or Seborrheic Dermatitis.

Blonde Hairstyles

Long hair style is hotter and more popular than ever. People that are lucky enough to have long hair are always looking for new and interesting ways to wear their hair. People who can’t grow their own long tresses are opting for add-on hair and extensions. The long layered hairstyles can be achieved with minor differences in the knocks. Both the hairstyles give cute as well as elegant look for any special occasion. This is an easy way to updo the long hairstyle is a simple pony tail with a French twist. This hairstyle gives a classic and exotic look that can be achieved in just a few seconds.

When you have long hair, no style is more fun to experiment with than braids. If you think braiding is limited to the standard English style (three strands of equal size, crossed back and forth to form a simple ponytail-style braid), you haven’t explored the possibilities. There are dozens of braid styles—some understated, some complex, all eye-catching.

These hairstyles work best with long hair:

Curled – Curl it then put it in a lose bun using a pony tail holder or if u have the time put it up using bobby pins or barettes. After you get out of the shower let it dry until its damp and get alot of hair gel(considering your hair is so long) and put it on your hands and comb it through your hair using you fingers then when there is hair gel evenly through all your hair then crimp it by wadding parts up it in your hands and it will give it a cute wavy look

Kim Richards is famous in the community of long hair fans for her years of having below-the-waist wheat blonde tresses. An actress, Kim Richards was born in Mineola, New York on September 19, 1964.

If you have long hair but it is on the thin side, use less ponytails and smaller braids. You can also braid all the way to the end of the strand or leave some hair to fly free.

It is very important what you eat, as it truly does affect your hair. Hair is made up of ninety percent a-keratin protein and ten percent water. For this reason avoid crash diets or low protein diets. Long hair is fragile and needs intensive conditioning and caring. The length should be trimmed regularly and the hair brushed each day using a pure, bristle brush. The bristles literally polish the hair gently spreading the natural oils from roots to ends. Combs should he wide toothed, smooth ended and of a high quality.

There a classic look for long-haired women that has been around for centuries – literally. Not only is it attractive, but it’s functional. Yet it doesn’t have a name, per se, just a description: pulled back at the temples. A young girl or woman with long flowing locks has taken a slim lock of hair from the area of her temples and pulled them back and bound them together behind her head.

If you have relatively thick long hair you can modify the multi-pony by adding more than 3 separate sections. Experiment with as many ponytails as you like. While the look certainly is more contemporary than professional, you love the new style.

supplements review

With its benefits, the Acai (pronounced: ah-sigh-EE) Berry has become a popular supplement. The small purple berry that is mostly seed with little pulp is a nutrient-packed power-house that may increase energy, ward off cancer, promote restful sleep, improve the libido, aid in weight loss and promote healthy skin.

Because of its benefits, it’s no wonder that the public is in a rush to purchase this powerful supplement. The problem is that most stores want a low cost product that has a flashy label that says “Acai Berry” on it.   If you read the “Supplement Facts” and “Other Ingredients” on the label, you will learn that these products are only acai extracts and may contain fillers, additives, flowing agents and/or stimulants.  To get the true benefits of Acai berry buy a supplement that contains pure organic Acai.

Pure Acai is created through a freeze drying process that holds the nutrients and benefits of the berry. If the label does not specify freeze dried acai berry then the supplement was processed by using chemical and heat to dry the acai berries into a powder form.  This information will not be on the ingredients list of a store bought supplement. With Pure Acai, the label clearly states “Freeze-Dried Organic Acai”.

Most consumers trust their local grocery store or pharmacy, but the truth is the local store may not know about the Acai Berry or its benefits, and they are simply selling what is stocked on their shelves. These mass produced acai berry supplement are not pure and are extracts with little benefits, to learn more about store sold acai and the best pure acai brands read the acai reviews.

It is in the consumers’ best interest to purchase an Acai Berry supplement like Perfect Acai. Not only is it 100% organic Acai, it’s sold by a company that offers a 100% money-back guarantee if the consumer isn’t satisfied.
